Local Law Enforcement
Roughly fifty vehicles have been covered with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the German town of Hanau close to Frankfurt, police confirm law enforcement.
Automobiles, exterior walls and mailboxes were vandalized, sometimes with prohibited symbols, they announced in a official communication.
Law enforcement say they were alerted late on Wednesday, when a individual noticed that a vehicle in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been marked with a red-colored fluid.
The liquid had been placed in the form of a Nazi symbol, they stated.
Police then found many other marked vehicles and residential walls in the surrounding area.
Nazi symbols are prohibited in Germany under laws outlawing the public display of symbols from the Nazi era.
Officials report preliminary tests indicate the liquid was most likely human bodily fluid.
"There is still no indication as to its origin; investigators are not yet cognizant of any harm in association with the occurrence," they commented.
Municipal representatives said they were trying "to solve the case" and have appealed to the residents for tips.
A senior representative said the incident rendered him without words and needed to be resolved rapidly.
"This incident strikes at the center of Hanau and reopens the trauma of the far-right attack in 2020," he stated on a platform, recalling the murder of nine individuals by a assailant targeting people of immigrant origin in five years prior.
